Hi Grant

Support for Exhibeo is something that we’re planning to do in b3.

Jeremy,

can you give us some vague timing on this? I'm waiting for this before I can start with xway.

Re: Problem changing link colour

Jeremy Hughes

Hi Geoff,

Link styles that are set on boxes override link styles that are set in the Document Inspector.

If can send me a file where this is not happening, I’d be happy to take a look at it. If the file isn’t large, send it to support at softpress dot com.

Having read the above thread, it seems it ought to have worked, any ideas?

Re: Exhibeo

Exhibeo can export HTML galleries as well as Freeway-ready ones. You could try using an iframe in Xway to put the gallery content into a page. You'll need to upload the gallery stuff to somewhere on your site first and then use the URL to that as the iframe URL.

It's not as neat a workflow as I'm sure it will be when Xway supports Exhibeo properly, but it should be perfectly functional.

Hi Geoff,

Exhibeo will work with Freeway.

Xway doesn’t support it directly yet, but that’s high up on our to-do list.

I think I asked about Exhibeo a while ago. I'll need to purchase it for Xway, but will it work with Freeway so I can replace my existing galleries made with Showcase?

Hi Tommy,

Not yet, but it's on our to-do list.

hamburger menu

Tommy <ttiwk@...>

Hi Jeremy,

I'm trying the tutorial of Xway b2. It looks good!

Does/will Xway have an easy way to make hamburger menu just like the homepage of Softpress? Hamburger menu will be displayed in a narrow browser window or mobile phone.

This is a very nice feature.

Nice work Keith. My only test so far was this template I did with the first beta - https://www.plumb-design-dev.com/xway/template1/

I spent a little time yesterday updating it with beta 2 and doing away with some of the workarounds that I had to employ to step around missing features. I'll see if I can upload the revised document soon.

Well done again.
Tim.

Okay sure, it's clearly a beta and it doesn't have all its features yet. But oh boy, once I knuckled down and started testing Xway properly it got rather exciting! I've just finished rebuilding my Panorama Photographer site and I'm pleased. :)

http://panoramaphotographer.com/index.html

I have used more custom CSS markup than will be needed when Xway is finished, but even doing that was impressively straightforward. I caught myself out from time to time and had to rebuild some nested structures, but that's all part of the learning process.

The site may need refining and there are a few things that I'd structure slightly differently now that I've learned more about using Xway, but this will certainly do for now!

Anyone else have any Xway productions online yet?

Keith

Hi Carla,
should I delete the original Xway beta/?
It's up to you really. One advantage of deleting it is that macOS won't try to open documents in the old version, when you double-click on them. If you want to hang on to the old version "just in case", you could compress it into a zip file (choose Compress from the File menu in the Finder) before deleting the app.

Xway b2 will open b1 documents, but you can't open b2 documents in b1.

Hi Geoff,

We’ve fixed the permissions problem, and we’re looking into the certificate issue.

Oh - but one thing that has gone wrong is that the Xway Tutorial is no longer accompanied by a Media folder containing resources.

We'll get this fixed ASAP

(If you had the Media folder, you could also use the Locate button to locate each of the resources.)
