You can also use VMWare Fusion and run multiple OSes in parallel, switching between them like applications with no need to restart. Much easier.

FWIW... if you can live with a restart, then since APFS was introduced (Apple File System) it is now trivial to have multiple MacOS on your drive and a simple case of restarting with the Option Key held down to choose which one you want.  You don't need to allocate space to the Volume. AFPS automagically resizes as required.
